Summary: Frankie was never one to believe in fairy tale endings. He had seen too many things end in disaster to believe in that anymore. But one person has their mind set on proving him wrong, and they know exactly the way to do it.

Prologue Pt. 1//Prologue Pt. 2//Part 1//Part 2//

Matt couldn’t cook. He was useless, and he told me that when he turned up at the bus to get me for some food. He held in his hand two cups of instant noodles, a big bottle of coke, two plastic wine glasses and a bag of red frogs.

We walked down to the water. It was about 1am, and we were in a waterfront town. I always forgot names. We sat down on the pier and I finally had a look at him. He wore a fitted pair of jeans, they weren’t tight, but they were tight enough to show his figure slightly. He wore a black button up shirt which hung loosely off his broad shoulders.

He looked hot. That was the only way to describe it. I felt under dressed in my ripped jeans and black t-shirt. We were only by the water, but I still felt weird.

“I can’t cook.” Matt had laughed slightly, a slight blush rising to his cheeks. “So, the gourmet Seven Eleven meal. Two minute noodles as a first course, to drink with that glasses of the finest coke in cheap wine glasses and for desert… Red frogs!” he grinned at me and I couldn’t help but smile. He was adorable.

“Sounds good.” I picked my cup of noodles up, along with a plastic fork and scooped some into my mouth.

Matt leaned closer to me and I put the cup down. He moved his lips close to mine, and my breath caught in my throat. I coughed. Stupid colds…

“And you say romance is dead… Maybe it’s because you coughed all over it.” He smirked at me and I blushed. “But, I actually showered. Is that not romantic?”

I laughed and picked my noodles back up, placing them into my mouth slowly before swallowing them with a long gulp. “Not really, normal people shower all the time… But in the context, yeah. It’s romantic.”

“So I win?” Matt grinned and I rolled my eyes. He pouted for a moment, his bottom lip sticking right out. That lasted a few moments before he started laughing. “Sorry, I’m a bit of a dick sometimes…”

“I could tell.” I smiled at him. “And no, you don’t win. One gesture doesn’t count…”

Matt shrugged and poured the coke into the two glasses before placing the bottle a bit away and moving closer to me. He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me close. “How’s this?” he whispered.

I rested my head on his shoulder. “S’nice…” I mumbled, but romance still stayed dead. I think it was just… trying to push out of it’s grave.

After our noodles, we started to walk along the beach, both of us holding our shoes in the hand that wasn’t holding the others. He had still worn his Converse, his excuse was that he didn’t own any other shoes.

We walked through the shallows of the water. It was a weird situation to be in. Almost perfect. As with anything perfect, it got shattered when a wave came crashing towards us and we both had to run to not get soaked.

Matt fell onto the sand and pulled me with him. I landed on top of him and rolled to the side with a slight blush on my cheeks.

“You know what is romantic, though…” I mumbled as we lied there. “The fact that neither of us have had the guts to kiss the other… That’s romance…” I sighed slightly and Matt moved to his feet before offering me his hand.

“Come on, get up.” He pulled me to my feet and offered me the bag of red frogs before we started walking. “So, I’ve proven you wrong?”

I laughed. “Nah, not yet. I like being pampered… You might have to keep on going for a while.” I grinned at him.

“I’ve got no problem with that one. Now how about some sex on the beach?” he grinned.

“Dick…” I rolled my eyes at him, kicking some sand. He cracked up laughing and kicked some back at me.

Strangely, that’s the most romantic night I’ve ever had. I had never expected that, but… It was the beginning of everything that followed.
